I spend some time everyday writing. I keep a notebook in my purse and jot down ideas wherever I am so that the story line does not escape me when I am ready to write. I contribute to several metaphysical newsletters and a hard copy magazine, Mystic Pop Magazine each month.
I am a published author; my first book was released by Woman in the Moon, Publisher, titled MAY I SEE YOUR HAND? Palm Reading for Fun and Profit. I was a ten year old when I stopped by the hospital where my Mother was the Charge Nurse. The second shift never arrived and we couldn't leave. I got loud and embarrassing saying things like death is everywhere, and it smelled like sick people. I had to be quieted down. Mother grabbed a book off the Volunteer Wagon and told me to read it. It was a book written in 1895 on the Asian modality of palmistry. From that day I was hooked on palmistry.
They say hairdressers see it all however I take exception to that statement because I see, feel, hear it. I "know" it all about anyone whose palm I touch. I share my understanding of the Asian modality of palmistry in the niche area of how-to books with MAY I SEE YOUR HAND. Using my book as the vehicle to drive the interest of individuals who are curious about their lives, past, present and future, it was written to enlighten, educate and entertain.
This book was written quickly; I hardly remember doing it because the subject matter is my passion and it poured out of me in a few hours. I believe it was channeled, that I was meant to do it. I sent query letters to fourteen publishers and heard of interest from four of them. My second book from Infinity Publishing, is titled, SOUL MATE CONNECTIONS, Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Relationships, Love, Romance and Soul Mates. I love every story I composed because they are based on true lives. I gave each palm reading session a title. In this book there is an explanation on soul mate, twin flame, karma, a 15-point list of qualities to look for in a mate and six mistakes to avoid in choosing a mate. I included stories from my documentation journal which showcases 46 palm reading sessions of my clients involved in love situations.
In 1956 I was a high school student, working part time at a Dayton Ohio newspaper office when I read the palm of Erma Bombeck. This is the first story in the compilation. I recalled sessions that I felt would be beneficial to learn from by seeing the dilemma's of others lives and how they reached solutions to their love problems.

I READ ERMA BOMBECK'S HAND May 1956
While working at a newspaper in Dayton Ohio I met a young columnist who drove in weekly from Miamisburg, an adjoining town. She arrived at the office with her written columns, and then lounged around the editorial department waiting for her galleys. My assignment was typesetting her material on the hot metal linotype equipment. She proofread her own columns (three a week). We quickly formed a warm friendship and traded smart quips back and forth. She was aware I was a part time high school student and confided she was a few years older than I. Her name was Erma Bombeck.
Erma approached me one spring day. She whispered, "I've heard the juicy gossip around the newspaper plant you read palms. Will you read me?"
"I'd love to read your hand Erma," I answered. "I'll sign out and we'll find a quiet place with good light."
We sat on a sunny stairwell with intense light from a high ceiling window. I distinctly remember Erma offered me both hands.
"Which palm do you read?" she inquired. "I use both of my hands."
I replied, "After I study both of your palms, I'll know which one I want."
"You go girlfriend. Do whatever you have to do," she laughed.
I peered closely at both palms and discovered she was truly a left and right-handed individual, her brain developed evenly on both sides.
"Your Life line isn't too long," I began. "It details life into your seventies where you'll cram a lifetime into the years you are here," I predicted.
"What else do you see?" she asked, interested.
"Your Love line is a perfect textbook example, showing one marriage, at age twenty, to a man a few years your senior. It's a solid, unbroken line denoting a heavy duty connection, the man of your dreams. You possess many talents and untapped potential, abilities yet to be discovered. You could have been a teacher, a trainer, or a tour guide because you have a knack of expressing yourself, a dramatic flair that makes people pay attention to you. They comprehend your message."
"Good news! I love writing; it is my way of expressing. I take an every day situation and poke fun at it. I always look for humor in everything I come in contact with and make fun of myself too," she admitted.
"Work is important to you. Because of your two small children it's better for you to work from home. You get to mother them and write too, allowing you the best of both worlds. Your creativity hasn't hit full tilt yet. You are just at the tip of the iceberg."
"You are so full of it!" she laughed, "I would love it though if you were right about my career. When I sat down you mentioned my brain was developed on both sides. I don't understand the concept."
"If you were only able to function with your right hand the left side of your brain would be active as the logical, methodical, practical one. The right brain would be the creative one, the dreamer. If you were only left-handed it would be the opposite. In your case both sides of the brain are equally active all the time."
"So I'm a unique human being?" she joked.
"You are what you make of yourself. I believe you're poised, competent, self-confident, an individual who loves life and lives it to the fullest," I said.
"I'm pretty happy with my life. Have you heard? My column is being picked up by the Cox newspaper organization, going into syndication. Am I excited! It means more money, more interviews and more exposure. I'll be standing tall!"
We discussed her children, a boy and girl. She wondered if they would have any siblings. I noted four marks on her baby finger, indicating four possible pregnancies.
"I hope your prediction comes true, we do want four kids," she giggled. "I wonder, should I write a book? I planned to do stories about the suburbs, my home life, similar to my column. Would worldly people be interested in reading my autobiography?"
"Your Work line is lit up like a Christmas tree telling me you're really in tune to writing a book. The idea is appealing and I feel you will do it. After your first book you will continue writing," I counseled.
"When do you see me gaining popularity with the public? I'm twenty-seven," she
uttered under her breath.
"You're on the cusp of fame now. I see a period spanning forty-five years of a successful writing career.
"I can't thank you enough for this stimulating and enlightening palm reading Myrna Lou! I'm going home to think about the book writing idea."
We hugged each other warmly and parted company.
My third book has 42 palm reading sessions taken from 1956 to 2003. It is titled DIARY OF A PALM READER. This book is also from Infinity Publishing and was produced in 2004.
Currently I am sending out proposals for my fourth book, titled PALMS READ IN LOVE & LIGHT which has 88 chapters of all kinds of life situations.
The fifth book in my series has a working title of The Palms of Children. Today I have 39 palm reading sessions in it but would like 42-45 before I send it out for query to publishers. Yesterday at a Psychic Fair I read the palms of two 10 year old darling little girls and they will be included in my next book for sure. |
