Rolling Stone Magazine's
Top 100 Guitarists
of All Times...
by
Etkin Getir

This controversial list below appeared in the famous Roiling Stone Magazine in August 2003 and caused much discussion among the fans and authorities. To give an example, many emphasized the shortage of female guitarists on the list (There are only two: Joan Jett and Joni Mitchell),and Camille Paglia even named this "rock machismo". And some defend Rolling Stone with the claim that there were no worthy female rock guitarist  in this era. An article from The Washington Post covering this subject can be found here.

And one more point: The fans generally agree on the Jimi Hendrix on the  number #1; but as they go down the list they say "oh,where did these names come from?"

I'm looking forward to know your opinion, too.

Keep on rocking!
