Sadness
by
Flavia Cosma

Rest your thoughts on my womb my love,
Stay silent and listen to the drone of the flesh
Rising to the surface from the great abyss.

Pay attention to the infant left blind forever,
Memorize his whispers, his butterflies,
Velvety, his soft wings
Cut down before soaring.

Love me as I am,
Both barren and sorrowful,
For only then you could understand
What was the thing that got lost
In the void between us.
