Dear readers;

After great two years with the good old Storyteller,we brought the phoenix back (in Scott's words) again with the same vision to bring you one of the best literary contents on the web.

As the beautiful city of Istanbul links Asia to Europe,in Istanbul Literature Review you will read from talented authors from all around the world.Therefore,our motto says "bridging the cultures".

Now,let me give you some  information about the publication in-depth.Just like Storyteller, Istanbul Literature Review will have a good collection of stories on every issue. So is the poetry section.But the article section has undergone a great change and we got together a very talented and rare team on the same page. Unlike Storyteller, a corner is allocated for every article author and they will write regularly on a quarterly basis. Moreover, in the articles section,we had a great variety of topics from politics and world matters to palmistry and Turkish Culture.

Now,let's see how our debut issue looks like at a glance.

On the short story page we have four stories.In Astrid Kills A Man,Mike Broemell tells why a lady hates Astrid Fry,in his unique style.Jim Kohl,an old Storyteller, wrote an interesting story again with a surprising end in his Hidden Vice.And then we got Ronaldo Jimenez's splendidly written story Pomegranate Blood in which he includes a touch of science-fiction.Finally,a contributor from Egypt,Ahmed Eladway tells how Sarah's surprise party plans didn't work in Surprise Party.

         As mentioned above,we have a rich article section.On the top-left corner where American Reflections is placed,you'll see a royal Storyteller who has been writing for me since the second issue of Storyteller,Scott Muschett.He has a catching story to tell you and I wouldn't miss it. On the top-right you'll see one of our story authors,Mike.In his article The Importance of the Realities of War,he discusses a rather popular issue nowadays,and I guess it's self-explantorary by its name;smart and to the point.Towards the bottom,a young man of a great potential appears,it's Kamil Mamaraimov.Right from the Central Asia,from the Turcic republic of Kyrgyzstan he reflects the extraordinary movement on the region on his Asian Mirror.And then we have one more interesting topic,palmreading. The experienced psychic and palmreader Myrna tells us the basics of the topic.On Diary of A Mad Man  we will live the  Rock'n'Roll dream together once more and pay tribute to our never-forgotten heroes.And finally writing as a guest author for the articles page,Jose Aparicio presents his great work About Existentialsim.Old Storyteller Jose (author of the story Prostitude which is remembered by every Storyteller fan by admiration) will be with us sharing his great talent on the future issues of our review.

And evantually comes a brand-new section:Turkish Delight.On this section we have an intention of get our international readers to know Turkish culture and see what Turkey,the crossroads of civilizations, looks like and what taste does Turkish people have,. For this corner,I got two intense ladies.Halime will give you delightful recipes from Turkish Cuisine while Işıl introduces the gardens of a speechless beauty in Turkey.

On the poetry page,we have four poems from qualified authors. Lioness On The Rise is written by a loyal Storyteller again,by Patrick Julian Cassidy who wrote delightful Thoughts Upon Meeting You in the debut issue of Storyteller.Second one comes from a contributor from Nepal,Inner Self  in which Pushpa Tuladhar does a great job.The third is rather an interesting and concise one called No More by Georgie.Will Freedom and Reason Prevail is the last one by our American article writer Scott Muschett.

As seen above,we got together a great potential under the name Istanbul Literature Review.I hope you will enjoy all the content.

I'd like to thank all the staff and the talented authors of Istanbul Literature Review and cotributors for their great effort.They all made quite a contribution to our publication.

Especially,one of my greatest thanks goes to Louise Yibar.She's not just the English Language Consultant of our review which is of a vital importance for an international publication,but she's more than that.From the very beginning of my journey in the literature world,she never gave up her support and I owe a great deal of gratitude to this gracious woman.

And one special thanks go to old Storyteller Family members who didn't leave me alone in the "Bringin' the Phoenix Back" campaign.

Not to mention,please do not hesitate a moment to send your ideas and comments to me.Your suggestions are of the highest importance for me in order to bring you the best we can;therefore I'm looking forward to recieve your feedback.

Well,that's all for the debut issue. Now,make your way through the pages and enjoy high-quality online literature.

Cordially,
