Temptation
by
Donal O´Flynn

The oldest of all sins
The first of all sins leading Envy, Lies and Greed is
Temptation
The Forbidden Fruit
The Wild Alcoholic Glutton in all of us
From the day someone first says NO to us
Temptation……. the beguiler…. in
fancy dress and changing mask
In kaleidoscope of image and colour
In music for the Gods
In pleasures innumerable
Earth’s pieces of heaven
Temptation

It’s only human
A betterment of condition….. State.
A borrowing from heaven……A loan.
A turning from the light
Aye
just a temporary turning from the light
