Ingredients :
- 200 gr Turkish shredded wheat
- 1 glass of sugar
- 1 glass of water
- 5 soup spoons milk
- 4 soup spoons vegetable oil
- unsalted Cheddar or Mozarella cheese (200gr.)
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
Method :
Break up the wheat. Add
5 soup spoons milk and 4 soup spoons of oil and leave to
soak.Squeeze out halk of the wheat and lay into a 25cm tray.Cover
with sliced cheese.Squeeze out the remaining wheat and lay
over the cheese so that the cheese layer is in the middle.Cook
one side over a low heat on the gas or electric hob then
turn over and cook the other side.Pour the pre-prepared
syrup over the wheat and cut into four pieces.Serve warm.
To make the syrup ;
Melt a glass of sugar in one glass of
water in a pan.Bring to the boil and simmer for 10 minutes.Add
a teaspoon of lemon juice and leave to cool.
